I honestly can’t explain it, other than the authors magical ability to tell such a moving and engaging book that I’m transported into it wholly. I can count on one hand how many books have just truly spoken to me and have made me feel seen – even though I’ve suffered none of the things the characters have. I find that there are very few books that purely resonate with me. Bracken was able to, yet again, create a epic world and was able to pay attention to the minute detail. Throw in complex characters, with dark backstories, bold personalities that create lots of action and plot twists that will leave you invested. We follow Tasmin, a mortal that strives and fights for the survival of her cursed brother, to cover the basic version of the plot. After the Darkest Minds series getting turned into movies and the recent release Lore being a masterpiece, there was no doubt that Silver in the Bone was going to be just as wonderful.
